At MSESGR Annual Awards Banquet, Gulf States Manufactures of Starkville was the winner of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves’ (ESGR) 2009 Pro Patria Award. 

Tucson, Arizona Area Chair Darren Venters presents Washington Federal's, Georgia Velarde, with the ESGR Patriot Award.  The nominator was Sgt Jeremy Pepe with the 1/158th INF, ARNG, Tucson, AZ.  Washington Federal branches in the Tucson area showcased their support on bulletin boards to allow their customers the opportunity to send packages and items to SGT Pepe during his deployment to Afghanistan.

LINCOLN – Ron Joyce at the Nebraska Department of Labor has been honored by one of his own with an ESGR Patriot Award. Joyce was nominated for the Nebraska Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recognition by Evan Littrell who, on the military side of his life, is Airman 1st Class Litrell with the Nebraska Air National Guard, 155th Air Refueling Wing based in Lincoln.

Fort Smith, Arkansas – The Arkansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that Vickie Russell, Laboratory Supervisor of United Blood Services, was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of her employee who serves in the Arkansas National Guard.

Eugene, OR - Mrs. Teddi O’Conner, Supervisor at Legacy Laboratory in Eugene was presented the Patriots Award from the Department of Defense Agency, Employers Support for Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in ceremonies held on March 8, 2010. 

Smyrna, DE – The Delaware Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (DE ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced that PPG Industries’ Mitch Magee signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve.  The signing ceremony took place at PPG Industries' architectural coatings manufacturing facility in Dover, DE.  PPG Industries has 5 employees at the Dover location who also serve in the National Guard and Reserve.  

WASHINGTON, DC – Mr. Robert Newman, Field Committee Chair of the DC ESGR Committee announced that Mr. John Adler, National President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve during an ESGR Bosslift at Andrews Air Force Base.     

Smyrna, DE – Delaware ESGR Volunteer Sarah Timmons honored Mark Ryan of PATS Aircraft Systems, a Division of Decrane Aerospace, in Georgetown, DE with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The recipient was nominated by employee and Army National Guardsman CW2 Charles Conaway. CW2 Conaway serves in the Delaware Army National Guard, 262nd Component Repair Company, Dagsboro.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Honorable Dennis M. McCarthy, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, announced that Chief Michael J. Carroll, President, of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), signed a Statement of Support today for the National Guard and Reserve.

Smyrna, DE – Delaware ESGR Volunteer Rich Ruben honored Mr. Rich Liero of Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in Newark, DE with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.  The recipient was nominated by employee and Army National Guardsman LTC Robert Hyland.  LTC Hyland serves in the Delaware Army National Guard, 72^nd Troop Command. 

Smyrna, DE – Delaware ESGR Volunteer Steve Niewinski honored Ron Casula of DelleDonne and Associates in New Castle, DE with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.  The recipient was nominated by employee and Army National Guardsman SPC Joseph Burke, Jr.  SPC Burke serves in the Delaware Army National Guard, 101^st PAD, Wilmington, DE.

Collier County, FL - Collier County Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk, center, was honored Tuesday with a Patriot Award. The award recognizes employers for employment policies and practices that are supportive of employee participation in the National Guard and Reserve. LINCOLN, NE — An employee of Kawasaki who lives a double life serving his country in the National Guard has nominated his civilian supervisor for the Patriot Award, presented by the Nebraska Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

PERU, NE – Dr. Dan Hanson, president of Peru State College, was the recipient today of a Patriot Award, presented by Walter Zink III, chair of the Nebraska Committee for the Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, in recognition of his extraordinary support of an employee who serves in the Nebraska Army National Guard.

"The Above and Beyond Award was presented to Kelly McConnell, of Givens Pursley Law Firm in Boise on Dec. 14, 2009. Kelly, a lawyer with Givens Pursley, provided Pro Bono representation to correct the birth certificate of an Idaho National Guard soldier who was wounded by an IED and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury."

KEARNEY – An entire department at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney has been honored, and thanked, for how it supports one of its own.  Todd Stover, director of the Invasive Cardiology and Perfusion Lab at Good Samaritan, recently accepted the ESGR Patriot Award for the entire department.
