Smyrna, DE – Delaware ESGR Volunteer Steve Niewinski honored Ron Casula of DelleDonne and Associates in New Castle, DE with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The recipient was nominated by employee and Army National Guardsman SPC Joseph Burke, Jr. SPC Burke serves in the Delaware Army National Guard, 101st PAD, Wilmington, DE. SPC Burke praises his employer in his award nomination by writing that “my employer has been very supportive of me, since I joined the Delaware Army National Guard in Nov. 2008. They have allowed me to take time off, so I could attend my MOS school during the summer of 2009, and also when I have requested time off for doing special missions for the Guard on short notice.” According to Christine Kubik, Delaware ESGR Executive Director, “the ESGR Patriot Award was created to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of our nation’s Guard and Reserve units. Employers are nominated by their military employees”.
